When not covering the biggest news stories around the world, this client wanted a quiet sanctuary to call home. She started with a handful of small purchases from her travels and a sofa she’d moved with. My goal was to fill in in such a way as to enhance her sentimental pieces without overwhelming the small space. This project was a true mix of price points, using a customized pair of IKEA cabinets set upon steel legs I found on Etsy, a leather accent chair from West Elm, and other textiles and tables from various shops in between. The end result is a cozy but airy living room to find solace after a grueling assignment, where she can both rest and catch up with friends.
