Welcome to Richmond! This single family home nestled in the sweetest suburb of Richmond, VA started off as a blank slate full of potential. My client had a great understanding of her style and was able to communicate both the functionality of the rooms as well as the visual direction she desired. We landed on a fairly traditional design with funky modern twists. She was unafraid of color and pattern and we used both throughout these spaces! While the two rooms (a formal living room and a casual family room), are on opposite sides of the main floor from one another, we wanted these rooms to reflect each other in feel - warm, inviting and comfortable. We chose soft performance fabrics for all seating for optimal durability and flexibility, and a variety of warm earthy tones. The saturation of the colors used reflect the traditional nature of my clients style and her home, while the shape of some of the pieces add a hint of modernity.
