Reader Design: Ashley's Airy Master Bedroom

Hey guys! Cheers to Friday! I'm pumped to be closing the week with another Reader Design. It's been a wihle, eh!? In case you've forgotten what Reader Designs are, (or are a new friend to StyleMutt), here's a quick recap: Reader Designs are an ongoing series on our blog where we share short tours around other decor enthusiast's spaces. There are no requirements to be a professional decorator or even a fellow blogger. Our goal is to share incredible rooms with fresh ideas and styles and document all of these features in our Spaces section, (on the top menu bar). Who doesn't like peeking inside beautiful homes?!  It's inspiring to see the intentional and creative work someone has put into their own home. And that's the root of it; to pass along some inspiration.

I put out a little request on Instagram for folks to share their favorite rooms, (or entire homes!), with us here at StyleMutt by hashtagging their photos with #stylemuttspaces, and let me tell you, we were not disappointed in the least. The response was awesome and I've got some amazing Reader Designs lined up to share with you!

Today it is such a pleasure to share the gorgeous bedroom created by Ashley of Bigger Than The Three Of Us. I was thrilled when she tagged her bedroom because when I saw it for the first time, I literally just stared at it in awe. It's light and airy, and yet so full of life!

From Ashley:

"For our master bedroom it was really about layers and adding them over time. I don't have the "eye" when it comes to decorating or the extra cash to just buy what I love. So, our stuff is always trial and error."

"I love mixing high and low pieces to get the look that I want. For example, the bed frame was a West Elm clearance find as was the the three drawer dresser and the corner chair. The nightstands were a steal from the Goodwill. The sunburst mirror and headboard were both DIY's. I happened onto each of these pieces over the course of a year and during that year, my style for the room really evolved."

So, so cool...Do you guys have a hundred ideas for your own homes running through your mind right now too? If you'd like to hop over to Ashley's full bedroom reveal, you can find more fabulous photos and details here. Next week stay tuned for Ashley's beautiful dining room!

Ashley, you rock. Thank you so much for sharing all this goodness with us! If you'd like to follow Ashley on Instagram, you can find her at ashley_biggerthanthethreeofus

Thank you all for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Reader Design: Kristina's Coastal-Inspired Fall Home

Hi and Happy Halloween, All! I have the perfect Home Tour to share with you today - it's a lovely balance of Fall and Halloween, with a beachy vibe. Kristina's casual, coastal decor is the perfect backdrop for rustic Fall touches and subtle nods of spookiness.

Welcome to Kristina's home!

"Regardless of the season, my home always seems to lean toward a rustic coastal theme. I enjoy natural colors that are light and airy, like my blue pumpkin, and seashells seem to work their way into every season (see vase full of dried hydrangeas)."

"Every season I like to change out the pillow cases, switch up the table-scape, and redecorate my mantle shelf above my couch. Making little changes to reflect the season keep the house feeling fresh without spending too much money. I can't take complete credit because decorating the house is something my mom and I enjoy doing together and she is always an integral part in helping me decide what to put where."

"Although Halloween is technically only one day, I do like to add spooky touches for fun. Another constant you may notice is reference to my dog, Lucy. It's her home too so I include her any time I find the urge to monogram something. (see pumpkins)."

"Decorating my tiny patio is just as fun as decorating the inside for me. This year I decided to monogram our pumpkins with a K and L (for Lucy of course). I'm waiting for my purple mum to bloom to match the purple pansies and I even added a tiny pumpkin to my fairy garden. My goal is always to create an inviting and relaxing space for me and my dog, and of course anyone else who comes to visit!"

Thank you so much for inviting us in today, Kristina, (and Lucy!)! Such a beautiful, cozy home with so many personal touches - don't you just feel like curling up under a soft blanket with a warm drink now?! You can find this inspiring space, as well as others, on our Spaces page! Have a space you'd like to share? Either post photos to our Facebook page, or tag #stylemuttspaces on Instagram!

Have a fun and safe Halloween and a wonderful weekend!

Reader Design: Angie's Cozy, Collected Family Room

Hi All! One of my favorite things about being a DIY / furniture refinishing / home design blogger is the opportunity to get to know wonderfully creative people from all over. Not long after I opened an Instagram account, I found Angie, @angies_deco_abode. Angie has a beautiful eye for design and I've found her home to be so inspiring! She's a thrifting queen - you'd NEVER imagine that her glamorous space is almost completely thrifted or clearance finds.

Let's take a peek!

Stunning, right?! Here are some notes from Angie:

"This room is the first thing you see when you come in to my home. I wanted it to look nice and inviting. This room is used for everything. From storage for the kids toys to dads nicknacks that need to be out of the way. That hutch keeps things nice and organised. We love using this room on rainy or lazy days. Will lay on that lounger and read a book or just watch the rain out the window. Plus it also gets a lot of light so my plants love it too. All in all its a great room. Most of the things in this room were thrifted. Its nice to find things I love at a good price."

Hutch. $50
sofa/ lounger $90
Blue art frame $15
Gold table $15
White leather chair $12
Little table for planter $3
White rug/ikea $10
small side gold table $12

Thank you so much for inviting us in, Angie! Angie's beautiful room has now been added to our Spaces page. We really love any opportunity to peek inside a home. If you'd like to share any bits of your own home, please either post your pictures right to our Facebook page, or tag #stylemuttspaces on Instagram!
